I usually see a mixed bag out in the field. Anywhere from what look like early 20 somethings, middle aged folks (some with kids), to old couples that I seriously question how they’ll ever get an animal out of the woods.

I turn 29 in a few days. I don’t think this poll will be very accurate in the general hunting population because like @Frequently Banned Troll said Hunttalk is for old people lol 😂
I don’t do social media other than some YouTube. HT and Rokslide are my ‘social’ media. However I think that’s pretty unusual among most people/ hunters under 30..

So,,,,, what birthday was the most traumatic?
Turning 30 kept me shit faced for 3-4 days.
50 made me start to realize that I should have been more responsible when I was younger.
70 was "NO SHIT!".

Way more than 10% are millionaires. Depends on factors. Add in house value, cars, toys, guns, retirement accounts etc most are well over. Sitting with 1mm in liquid cash is a different story.

I grew up in a mostly lower middle class to poor portion of rural Midwest in the 1960s/70s. Lots of old vehicles driven by those families when I was a kid. Most kids wore hand-me-downs. Over half were on subsidized school lunches. A handful of town folk had a very nice sedan in the garage but not many. Maybe 1%.

Now, any person with 100 acres of tillable land back home and a paid off tractor and combine is a millionaire on paper. My county has 950 farms that average 440 acres. Are 3500 households in the county.

So 25% are farmers. Half the farms earn less than $100K per year so are hobby farms. That implies over 300 farmer millionaire households today in a county with under 4,000 households.

Add in persons who accumulated wealth by other than farming and likely 1 in 10 adults you bump into at the grocery store are millionaires today when perhaps were 15 households in the 1970s.

Yes, a million ain’t what it once was though if are an empty-nester not still paying to support adult offspring nor your parents then can still be a path to doing okay if healthy not living in a high cost of living neighborhood. An older 3 bedroom, 2 bath house on 1/4 acre runs $150K move-in ready in my hometown.
Neighbor kid will mow your lawn and shovel snow for $10 plus gas.

The only hospital in town may close as the Big Beautiful Bill was not helpful for rural doctoring and the subsequent financial bandaid did not do much. The high school has 1/3 the students as 50 years ago. But, living is inexpensive.

I can't wait to get old so I can relax! I'm 36 and trying to keep up with a 10yr old, 9yr old, and 9 month old. Baseball practice, horseback riding, dance, and late night bottles. By 9pm I'm exhausted! Meanwhile my 73yr old mother woke the house up (dog barking) the other night at 1am coming home from the casino. How times have changed.

25 was pretty cool because my auto insurance premium decreased...50 was notable because my bride surprised me with my first Harley...75 last January didn't really hit as hard as a few health hiccups at 68 & 71.

50 was tough for some reason. Seems like yesterday, however, I’m 57 now.
I’m already dreading 60…..if I make it!
