August Trout in OH

Not much going on here in OH during this month. From where I live it's a good drive to lake Erie for walleyes, but there is a small local lake that gets stocked with hatchery rainbows each year.

So, here is my quest/plan/vendetta.

Regardless of the weather I am going to spend one (1) hour each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday morning trying to catch a few trout.

It's a simple Carolina rig. 4 lb Trilene line, #8 bronze hook, BUT I'm only going to use two different baits. Berkley Powerbait (garlic scent) and homemade mini marshmallows soaked in garlic oil, alternating each day.

Which bait do you think will catch more trout ?

If that's the choice I'll go with powerbait simply because I've seen too many marshmallows dissolve.

Id prefer choice C and go nightcrawler with air blown in to float or add a pinch of powerbait to float and add color.

What brand garlic oil? I cant make a decision until I know. Lol
