I had a neighbor down the street from me who, sadly is gone now, had one of most impressive personal trophy rooms I have ever seen.
They built a whole 2 story additional section of their house to put it all in.
When the wife needed care and they moved to assisted living, he put it up on some auction site.
It all sold, no reserve. He gave a lot away to various hunting lodges he was involved with and the
kids took just one or 2 mounts, even though they hunt,
The things he thought were worth a great deal didn't bring much and the items he thought weren't
that big of a deal went for a lot.

As a couple guys here have mentioned. The stuff you keep and cherish only means something to you.
Enjoy it while you have it. Don't ration your candy.
My neighbor died suddenly and unexpected of a heart attack. Was a big car guy with a couple neat
vehicles and some great memorabilia and a ton of trophies his prize car won at all the car shows he traveled to
around the country.
It was all gone inside of 3 months along with his pickup, car trailer and all of the accoutrements that went along with it. 4 months later you wouldn't even know he had any of it.
Despite being along with him for all of the travels, She had no interest.

Although my wife says she’s burying me, no matter what I want, I would like to see my ashes dumped in a certain creek. They would then travel from where I currently live in Montana, past where I was born and raised in Mississippi, then into the Gulf of Mexico where we have vacationed my whole life.

A good friend of mine was a passionate LSU Tiger fan, plus he loved sailing on his sailboat. His wishes were to be buried at LSU Stadium in Baton Rouge and to also be buried at sea. He decided that upon his death, he would be cremated and have his ashes flushed down the toilet in LSU Stadium. He would end up in the Mississippi River a short distance away, then finally end up in the Gulf. Both wishes were accomplished. RIP Bill, God's speed Brother!

At least once a week I get a request for an animal mount to be donated to our nature center. The majority of them are waterfowl because you can’t sell waterfowl. Most of them are not in a desirable state for display at a museum/public center. A few of them are spectacular pieces. The donor is always let down when I tell them their dad’s prized mount is not in good enough shape to display. If we accept a mount I always tell the donor it may not be put on display, but it will be used for educational purposes. Sometimes the education happens in the landfill.

Lock stock and barrel, in Wyoming, will send a truck collect the mounts , guns, old ammo, misc hunting and shooting gear, auction it off and send a check. Used them on two estates I helped with, good people.
