Archery experts need advice

Last time I went to the shop to get a new string, I left with a new bow. Be ready for that to happen!

My dad did the same thing a year later. I warned him, and he walked out with the same bow I did too! And scenario, same outcome!

I have an older PSE Dream Season DNA. It is circa 2012 ish and the limbs were replaced under some type of warranty 5-7 years ago.

I’ve been shooting it and I keep consistently hitting low. I’ve adjusted the sight about as far as it will go. First few shots it comes up and hits the dot. After about 4-5 it starts creeping lower on the target. Same scenario each time till my sight is almost maxed out.

Left to right is the same with no movement. Everything on the bow seems tight. Noticed my peep is twisted a bit. Otherwise the string looks fine.

Makes me think I’m loosing energy.
So, is the string stretching causing me to loose FPS or are the limbs ready to give up?
While you’re having the string addressed, be sure to have the pro shop check the timing of the cams. Out of synch cams will give you erratic groups.

(1) Buying a new bow is never the wrong decision.

(2) Are you getting good sight alignment at the shot/have you ever had trouble with target panic? Sometimes target panic manifests itself in being unable to get the pin all the way up to the intended spot, especially after your lead arm gets a little tired.

Yes

And No

It’s a mechanical problem as I can adjust it away then it comes back within an arrow count.

Are you shooting a fall away rest that is cable driven? I.e. the cable is what pulls the rest into the vertical position when you draw the bow?

So there's a new bow in the near future - near future being next few hours?!

It didn't make sense to me to buy new strings at like $250 when I could just buy a new bow lol!
Same situation and it is going to take 2-3 weeks to get the strings and installed. I leave in just over 4 for a OIL type tag.

The extra money to upgrade is insignificant compared to everything else I’ve already done for this tag.

Sounds about right! Glad to hear you're going to be ready to rock in no time now. It's amazing how smooth they shoot compared to what you had. When I upgraded a couple of years ago, the bow I went with sure felt nice in comparison!

Anyone know anyone who could use that PSE I will make them a deal. It will just need a new string which was about 150 installed.

New Matthews lift x 29.5 got a victory lap in the back of the car. Tried the PSE but they were almost 2lbs heavier than my current set up. Was quite a noticeable difference in my arm. The carbon ones they had were nice but not for the price tag. View attachment 380573View attachment 380574
Crazy how fast they'll set your bow up when you buy a new one. 😉 hope it gets put to use soon.
