April Fools.....NM style.

SE New Mexico always gets a snow a week or two before Easter. Kills all the fruit harvest. Cannot see it happening this year, but is it blowing 50MPH and chilly this morning. My roof is coming off in this wind. An insurance call.

Wait and see.

Wife is in Denver visiting the daughter. 1-3 inches of snow. She checked the forecast for 2 weeks. Surprise!

First house I bought in ABQ 30+ years ago had a bunch of fruit trees in the backyard. We got an 8" snowfall around April 20 that year. In the 3 years I had the house I think we only had one good harvest. Springtime in NM can be a real rollercoaster, that's for sure, a few weeks ago we had an extended period of 75-80 degrees.

Not near as much but it was the snow up this way as well. This is down here in the foothills. A lot more up high.

I'm going with some berries and helping local tree fruit growers thru the pain...lol
I sure would like to find some NM apricots & how the pueblos grow some & get crops.
Kit Carson killed the apricot trees to keep the Navajos from Chinle.

Ha, no joke, we got somewhere between 8-10" since about midnight, hard to tell how much exactly because it is so heavy and wet...
