Just finished up w our annual opening weekend camping trip. My grandson gets upset when I head up to Colorado or Montana and he doesn’t get to go so I started having on opening weekend trip w him and my son, even though the ranch is only 15 min away from the house, it’s nice to go out n “rough it” w them for the weekend. I head out on Friday n set everything up n they come after my son gets off work. My friends n cousins come over from around the area n we make a time of it for the weekend.
My son got a pretty nice one yesterday morning. Not much horn but an old deer on his downhill, dressed over 150, damn good for the area. He shot another 8pt this morning also.
All in all a damn good weekend even if temps were in the mid 80s. Got everything home now, deer hanging in my smokehouse. Going to relax the rest of the day n then clean up n cut up deer tomorrow. Good luck today everyone else out there.
