Case and uncase outside of the vehicle. And yes, unload weapons before they are put away, but treating every gun like it is loaded will possibly save a life, regardless of how you store your weapons

Always treat a firearm as loaded and better yet keep the chamber safe until ready to fire on an animal

Sad. Never ease up on firearm safety. There's no room for error with guns. You can't take a bullet back once it's fired.

I hope people see these stories and tighten up on firearm safety. Hopefully people learn from others mistakes.

Safety has to be job #1. Unfortunately with familiarity comes contempt, or so they say. It only takes a second of lapsed safety procedures to cause a tragedy.
