A Newbie in Montana

You need friends or a boyfriend that hunts. You have some work to do.

I've got some good company here in Bozeman. I may or may not work for a hunting show that involves eating meat ;)

As far as the boyfriend goes, I just broke up with a fly fishing guide. Turns out catch-and-release applies to humans even more than trout in some cases.

Welcome. Here's a year round hog hunting place in Oklahoma for $100/hog. You can get a jump start on filling the freezer hunting at a place like that. There are others.

Its not completely on your own. Here's their comments on that. http://themeateater.com/2013/a-second-opinion-the-hog-hunting-debate/[/QUOTE

Thanks for the lead, Tom! If I ever get down that way I might have to stop by :) I work for that company, so it's funny that you pointed me back to that article. It was before my time, so nice to have someone else recommend it to me!

Circus would be a better term, with the best of intentions though. A great cast of characters, some standard internet forum fare or course, but don't let that distract you from so much quality information that's here. Great people, great hunters, and endless topics to discuss and dead horses to beat.

Welcome!

I much prefer beating dead horses to live ones ;) Happy to be here, and glad to take a joke at my own expense, all!

By chance have you been on a podcast in the last few months?

This forum is about 90-95% banter and the rest actual information. You can go back and read old posts or you can ask new questions. Plenty to learn about the nuts and bolts of hunting and lots of other stuff too like conservation issues.
