A couple more for the freezer

I shot these two fatties tonight with my whiz bang interstellar super blaster Henry single shot 30-30 (Mt. Mulie eat your heart out). The first one was 170 yards. I dialed my super chicken up two clicks and punched her through the lungs. The second one was closer so I just held high shoulder and down she went. Complete penetration with the 150-grain factory seconds round- nose bullets at a blazing 2300 FPS. I think they are going into bacon burger and summer sausage.

Congrats. My dad has the same rifle in 45-70 and absolutely loves it.

I got the rifle from a guy that had also bought the 45-70. He just did not have time to play with both of them. I got it for about a hundred bucks under normal price. I had a 6x SWFA that needed a home and they are a good match. I had killed a couple deer with it last summer, doing depredation work, and wanted a couple more with it. Not a long-range proposition at all, but a fun, accurate rifle up close. I had never killed anything with a 30-30, and so far, I am pleased with the result.
