I am ready to pull the trigger on a 7mm-08 as it is a really good price. Only issue is it has a 1:11 twist rate. My plan is to run ttsx which shouldn't be an issue, but would like the option of using 140 accubonds as well when needed. Is the 1:11 twist rate fast enough for good accuracy from the accubonds or would this be a deal breaker for you? Thanks for he help!

What weight barnes are you looking at.

You will need to use a 110 or lighter copper bullet to stabilize in an 11 twist.

I'm not sure what the minimum twist is for the 140 accubonds.

I ordered one of those for my birthday (i may have been drinking). Not threaded but we're chopping it down to 20". Should be at the FFL on Monday.
Nobody knows what you want better than yourself, I always say. Lol I bought one last year and love it.

Just picked up a Ruger American G2 in 7mm-08, practically gave it away. Was surprised to learn it was a 1:8.5 twist, 20” and threaded. Trigger is still mehh even at it lightest setting but I will tinker with it after the season is over. Shakedown range day didn’t seem to have a difference of opinion for the 3 different brand 140s I was feeding it.

I’ve had great terminal ballistic results with the TTSX, 3 out of 4 NC whitetail DRT(130gr 30-06). Highly recommend them. GL

I have a 10 twist that is great for 120-140s. I would think an 11 twist would be fine for long 120s and normal length 140s but would not want to buy it for the longer 140s might shoot them fine, but might not.
Are you sure about the 11 twist? That would be for a very specific use to use that.

Thank for the info! Eurooptic has it listed as 1:11 which is what I was using since the seller didn’t have twist listed. After some digging it looks like Sauer has it listed as 1:9.5 which is much better!

Curious on what manufacturer is putting an 11” twist on a 284 cal?

It was a Sauer that was listed wrong apparently. After some digging it turned out to be a 1:9.5 I should have verified directly from the manufacturer and not trusted seller info.

If anyone “needs” an inexpensive 6.5 creedmoor or PRC Eurooptic has them on sale for $399 and $449!!
