Well, ok... I'll dive in here too..
My experience is with my Stevens 200 in 7mm-08.
My first foray into smithing was to reame the chamber to 7mm-08AI (7mm-08 IMP, 40°).
Barrel was a 22" sporter.
I put 6,000 (yes, you read that correctly) rounds down the pipe in this configuration.
Played with as many different powders and bullets that were locally available to me.
I shot everything from the 100gr Sierra HP Varmint through the 168gr Berger VLD.
Powders from IMR4198 through RL19.
Some powders like BigGame were not readily available to me at the time.
Mostly I experimented with the 139-140gr bullet weight.
Though one of my best groupings ever was with the 160gr Sierra HOBT GameKings over RL19. 10 rounds going up 0.3gr of powder each in a group covered by a 50 cent piece. Note, VERY compressed loads.
The best casings that I have found is the PPU (PVRI Partizan) cases.
Speed demon for me and the 140gr bullets was RL17 @ 2,916fps.
Most accurate was with Alliant PP2000MR.
ES-6, SD2 over multiple strings, not just 3 rounds.
Took multiple deer with 120,140, 150gr Ballistic Tips and 140gr Berger VLD.
Furthest deer was 413 yards ranged.
