So dang true! Just a simple keep your stuff cold for 75 years!!! No email, no texting, no reminders, no digital footprint, no fancy ice cubes, no voice reminders just a fridge that kept chugging along even though nobody was around. Prob gonna be a bidding war to buy it!!!

Just think! This is prob older than most HT members!!! Dang it not me though...

Just like 70's pickup trucks! No electric nothing just run.

I have got a 12 year old Maytag we bought when we built our house that I am barely keeping alive on life support, and replacing the godforsaken POS will cost a couple grand. Meanwhile, my 40+ year old garage beer fridge, which a local church was throwing away and I poached from the dump pile, keeps things at the shady side of an iceberg reliably with no maintenance at all.

Signs of civilizational decline?

Our Kenmore fridge that was in our pantry and was 37 years old finally kicked the bucket 2 years ago. (n)

Very similar story here. Our 10 year old fridge in the house went out last summer. All the groceries were cleared out and put in the beer fridge in my detached garage. I pulled the beer fridge out of the basement of a house my company owned and was bulldozing the next day. I cleaned it out with a good spray of bleach cleaner, replaced the power cord. Keeps beer nice and cold and saved a couple hundred dollars worth of groceries. It's going on 40 years old now.
