Oh, and I'm 100% onboard with the 338 WSM. If such a beast existed, it would have been most tempting. Is 325 WSM dying? I read some people who love it.

I am a “western hunter,” and inside ~350yrds, I can think of no finer an elk cartridge. This is also my upper limit I’ll shoot at game. OBVIOUSLY bias. This bull was 300yrds and DRT.
Handload 200gr HC, moving 2580 MV. Recovery in off-side hide.

Bringing this thread back to life. Looking for a barrel in 338 Federal to rebarrel a HOWA. I would like a mid weight fluted barrel.
