Just wrapped up 23 big game season, i dont tell stories like many here but will share some pics. Weather and hunting pressure both gave me fits at times like never before, ate several tags just being picky. Left late august, only drew 1 good tag and no antelope buck this year only 2nd time in 10 years i think so was pretty light tag year. Shot a cow with a muzzy rather than a smaller bull. Chased some monster bulls could never finish deal in both archery and rifle hunts. Had a great family hunt for whitetails and hosted a DAV guest for a great elk hunt. Going to try and catch up on some of your falls on HT in next few days and really looking forward to @seeth07 summary! Hope you guys had a fun and safe fall, enjoy the pics. Up next some waterfowl/birds and maybe some cat/dog hunts and ice fishing aint far away.

The guy with his hands in his pockets is holding the biggest trophy. Well, he thinks so anyway. :D

I was wondering where TF you been. Was actually beginning to worry a bit

Nice work partner!
Appreciate the worry but if can get a tag for a open season i am gone, enjoy it to much. This is earliest i have been home in a few years, i really need to develop a better early december plan. Looking forward to catching up on your guys seasons!

Looks like a fun fall full of good times, good people and lots of critters! if you get cabin fever, I still have a cow tag open until the 21st and I still don’t know what I’m doing! 😉

Did you notice anything goofy with the rf hoof on your muzzy cow, doesn't quite look right in the photo. Congrats on the "light tag" season!

I did notice and even looked at it to make sure it wasnt all weird like that one hoof disease. It was strong and healthy just didnt develop any length, i assumed injury as calf or some kind of birth development issue. Good eye!

Thanks for doing the DAV hunt. As a fellow Vet I love seeing us helping each other. Congrats on a great season!

You know I will gladly load up and come help if you put the call out there just need some warning for planning purposes (daughters basketball season). I assume your cow is a unit on your side of the basin. Not sure I can offer any real help but sometimes extra eyes is all you need. You got the #

We have talked before about my desire to continue to help/reward vets and especially fellow DAVs. I could tell this/his story for hours but cliff notes: when i offered him the tag told him he had to be phyically and mentally ready and he quickly said he would be. He worked all summer walking and at gym, would text me about hiking carrying weight and really seemed like he was motivated. After kill told him he had to carry horns and some meat but he only had to carry head and a guide rope on a sled full of meat. He tackled the phyical side of hunt great and his confidence didnt seem like it could be higher! I didnt buy him a bday present so told him we would just shot his bull that day and did as he turned 58. I feel like for his more than 30 years of active duty and several as a civil servant this was my best way to thank him and i feel like i get as much out of these hunts as the guest.
