buckbull, you're such a show off. Really that is good looking veggies. Good going. The turtle pic was kind of a shock.
My mini personal watermelon are growing along with the cantaloupe. Finally getting Armenian cucumbers. My gherkins are doing their usual going crazy and producing.
Just happy when neighbors stop by that don't have gardens they go home happy.

Tomatoes are the only thing that I have that are really doing well. Cantelope and watermelon have been ok. Had some plants get to maturity and die without producing fruit. Zucchini is about dead and I only picked 4, squash bugs nailed it this year even though I sprayed. I have 12 pepper plants and have picked a single banana pepper.

buckbull, use diatomaceous earth on your plants. It's safe for kids and animals. I bought a sprayer for aphids and a 4lb bag off of Amazon. Harris-diatomaceous earth food grade and a sprayer.
It'll help with all the squash bugs.

Got a plentiful harvest of weeds from the garden this morning. A good weeding was overdue.
Also managed to get some peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, green beans and still getting blackberries.
Wife made eggplant parm for lunch and I've got some ham in the pot for ham and green beans for dinner.

well done! looks awesome. I'm already planning my new garden, and I'm so excited to get my hands in the dirt again. There's nothing quite like the taste of homegrown tomatoes and fresh herbs. I've been looking at heirloom seed catalogs and planning out my raised beds. It's a lot of work, but it's so rewarding. Of course, for anything I don't grow myself, I rely on the best grocery stores in America to find quality produce and other staples to supplement what comes from my backyard.

Pulled out the lettuce. Getting old and bitter. Decided to pull 3 plants of the gherkins. We can't keep up and people are starting to be leery of us. Don't need more veggies.
Cut several feet off the Armenian cucumber vines. All male flowers not producing much. Picked green beans. Flowering slowed way down. Might be getting close to pulling them.
Tomatoes just starting to ripen. Peppers doing okay not great. As much water as I use it might be more profitable to wait for the guy from the valley to come in and just buy a lot from him. But we do like our fresh veggies. Replanted lettuce and carrots where the Mexican sour cuc's were and everything is already coming up. What a difference very warm soil makes.
Just waiting on the cantaloupe and watermelons to ripen.

I'm not the type who thinks everything we make has to go on the smoker but the smoked salsa is a game changer. I love it.

San marzanos coming in hot. Processed 4 gallons yesterday with 4 more ripening

9 pints of salsa this morning. Picked 7 or so Armenian cucumbers. Got .19 rain yesterday, day before .11. Sitting here watching the clouds turn black and rumble and waiting for more rain. Yahoo!!

I'm jealous! I traveled so much in June this year, I couldn't garden. Congrats everyone on their haul. All I have is rhubarb.

Processed some more tomatoes today. Johnny apple sauce maker makes quick work of the job and does great.

Eggplant parm, fried potatoes and peppers and tomato for dinner from the garden.
Blackberry cobbler for dessert.

I think I'd have to call the watermelon that my boy made me plant the most successful plant of the garden this year. This is the second watermelon its put off and it has 3 more that will be ready over the next couple weeks. I got one squash off the survivor squash plant before the last heat wave killed it. Maters are resurging now. Peppers still putting out plenty. Need to get fall planting in the ground.
