Tomatoes were planted on Saturday, it frosted on Sunday night.

Ouch! I'm trying hard not to have that happen in the next couple of days.

Guess we will find out how hardy fall garlic is. We got about an inch of rain yesterday and everything greened up so nice. This morning it’s starting to snow

All ready for the cold. Electric cords running here and there. Our 60% chance of moisture went to 20% now. Which means nothing will happen. We all jumped the gun wanting all that fresh goodness.

I’ll start harvesting radishes next week, and start to get some mulch down. Hopefully after 3 more days of rain things will start looking better.

Been cool this week but thats ending it looks like. Still very little to no rain in sight. New irrigation is doing well, just a few mods and it'll be perfect I think.

Everything is coming in nicely. First harvest of all lettuce is done. Little bit of yellowing on some of the potatoes but I think we're still a little ways away on them.

The wifey is growing sweet potatoes and peanuts in grow bags. Dirt simple, pun intended.

She got a nice crop of sweet potatoes last year in just a few 5 gallon bags. After curing they really taste fantastic. Bradshaw variety.

Everything made it through the night. 3 more nights of freezing temps to get through. Even the squash made it with no heat on them just the frost blankets.

Ive gotten in the habit lately of going out during the first part of the week and mooching around in the red potatoes looking for the biggest ones. my 4 year old came out to help today, and I think we had a pretty good haul.

I can't believe your garden! Don't move to the west it'll never look like that here in May.
I fell the other day in one greenhouse of course I fell directly on one of the acorn plants. Smashed it flat. Didn't do the new shoulder a world of good either. Anyway I bought a plant today to replace it.
Frost hasn't killed anything yet just clumsy me.

Everything really taking off here. First squash and zucchini are growing, one cayenne is growing, tomatoes are really filling out and need to be pruned, potatoes getting close to digging time, few strawberries showing up, beans starting to come out, watermelon feels like its growing a foot a day. Love this time of year.

Things snapped back cool for us and we have a week straight of rain chances. .75" last night. Itll be a nice break from having to run the irrigation.

32 again this morning. We really need warmer nights and (hate to say it) warmer days. Everything I've planted outside seed wise has stalled out. Finally have carrots poking up out of the ground.

My green beans are doing good. Had a few that didn't pop and I dropped some seeds in the gaps yesterday. Corn, however, not following the program. In the 3 rows I planted maybe 10 came up. The 2nd planting is coming up now and seems a lot better but still some bare spots. Maybe I was lacking on water or even planted too deep. Dunno. Sucks when you've been raised on a farm and your garden doesn't grow! I ordered some raspberry plants last night and hope to get a patch started.
