Pete Rose actually did less than Sorsby, and I'd say he paid a higher price. It will be interesting to see if any pro team is willing to take Sorsby on.

There is only a handful of QBs that get chosen per year in the draft, so we'll have to see if they overlook it. I think he's going to need an outstanding year to have a chance.

The Oregon media team is on a roll this year……. I was listening to a podcast yesterday that the University of Oregon is heavily advertising the university of Oregon in Japan with shirts and merchandise that say Tokyo with the University of Oregon 0 and their advertising Dante Moore, and then this just popped up on my media feed.

The reason they’re doing it is the more merchandise they can sell worldwide for the university of Oregon the more money they can have for NIL …….pretty ingenious.

I like watching college football better than any other college sport but only if two Top 25 teams. The season goes too late as well. Needs to hold the National championship within a week of New Year’s Day.

The crappy “pre-season” games should be just that and not count.

Seems a lot of Oregon fans in this thread. Are you proud to face Boise State and Portland State? You are favored by 24 and 37 points. You have to play conference games and will be a stinker or three each season but no one wanted to watch Mike Tyson box Sugar Ray Leonard. They were of different weight classes so not a fair fight and thus never held. Fans deserve better.

Oregon is not the villain as most Top 25 programs want “preseason” automatic wins but are shams that only a sadist fan could enjoy past the first couple of drives.

Here are games I have circled. Oregon is absent.

9/12 Ohio State at Texas. Huge early non-conference game. Will lace up the cleats for their second games of 2026.

9/19 LSU at Ole Miss. Conference games. Coach Kiffin slinks back into town after bailing during a Championship run. Seems Portland State was already booked this weekend so these teams forced to play each other. Fans win.

10/10 Georgia at Bama. ‘Nuff said.

10/17 The Ohio State goes to Indiana. Matches up the most recent two National Champs. I will Google IU’s coach’s wiki immediately post-game since he wins. A lot. That’s what he does.

11/7 U of Miami at Notre Dame. I don’t care for either team though will be watching if both are in Top 10 that week.

11/27 Texas at Texas A&M. Big Boy NIL game.

11/28 Michigan at The Ohio State. Can’t miss rivalry that rarely is settled before 4th Quarter begins. These teams won two of the prior three National Championships.

The top 25 of today is likely not the top 25 by week 4/5. I find most of the predictions of how teams are going to be early season as guesses. The same goes for the predicted best players. Of course, there was a lot of coaching movement both for head coaches and assistants.

Not a Kiffin fan, but Kiffin won't slink into Ole Miss. Ole Miss bailed on Kiffin. I don't know if it would have changed the outcome, but it did give Kiffin full time to work on recruiting. I think that was a bad thing for everyone except LSU.

Big10 did win 2 of the last three. It's obvious Michigan has an asterisk by sign stealing. You can disagree, but Harbaugh left for a reason.

NIL has changed everything, but I guess we'll know by end of season who's spend worked and which players are living up to their deals.

Or the University of Montana when they won at Husky Stadium to open the season a few years ago doesn’t count

And the list of mid majors and lower level, D1 schools goes on with historic wins for their schools, Fresno State Bulldogs winning at Wisconsin mid 2000s another example off the top of my head , Boise State beating Oklahoma in that BCS bowl game around 2000 is still considered one of the greatest David vs Goliath upsets in bowl game history

As far as this year’s Oklahoma State game that was scheduled in 2018. They scheduled a home and way back then , when Oklahoma State and Gundy had a cooking. You can never tell when a program is gonna fall off.

As someone who’s gone to Oregon football and seen it live for three decades and was a season ticket holder yeah I’m looking forward to Boise State, they went to Eugene in 2007 and beat Oregon on its home turf , That was the last nonconference team to get a victory in Eugene. And Boise State fans still run their mouth about that game, And then they went on to win two more games after that one in Boise and the other was a bowl victory game over Oregon. and Ducks were 0-3 until Oregon beat them for the first time in 2024 when Oregon won the Big Ten and went undefeated 12-0

Yeah, I’m looking forward to some payback and Boise is constantly sniffing around the top 25 and is generally one of the favorites out of the Non power 4 to be considered a playoff contender

And as far as Portland state, yeah I’ll watch the game. Everybody knows it’s gonna be over by halftime or should be , but Portland State gets the money and Oregon gets a chance to get some of their back ups reps in game situations which is important if starters go down and you need your backups to be ready later in the season.

But at the end of the day, that’s just how college football is structured and the only games anyone remembers for the most part are the ones that matter to the fans individually

I agree there isn't a guaranteed win. Also, I think it's a bad thing to eliminate the cupcakes. They get paid more for those few games than they make the rest of the year. In some cases, I'm sure the entire sports program gets funded by playing against the Div I schools.

Assuming Big10 continues to improve top to bottom, there is almost zero chance there will be undefeated teams in the SEC, ACC, and Big10. It's very possible there will be at least two losses for the top teams in each conference. How many losses do people want teams to have before the playoffs?

I also think there is no way to really determine what method of scheduling is harder/easier. Considering we have Notre Dame scheduling anybody they want, I think worrying about the other teams scheduling is kind of silly. Extremely hard schedules give players little to no time to recover from nagging injuries. I think that's a bad thing if we want to see really great football in the playoffs.

My prediction for the Big10, SEC, and ACC is at least two losses for each conference champion.
