Makes me wonder how many other animals filmed by lampers were harvested with an invalid and/or no tag.

Excellent questionMakes me wonder how many other animals filmed by lampers were harvested with an invalid and/or no tag.
Cool.Excellent question
27 years for some animals seems excessive. Not condoning, just saying that sounds stiff

Is it? We're talking about law and order. He didn't just kill critters, he lied to law enforcement, destroyed evidence, went out of his way to defraud for the predators. Then posted all on social media where he profited from them. 27 years sounds good. He'll still get off early for good behavior, but need an actual detergentExcellent question

Yes. The fact that this was a grown ass adult doing this clearly for money and to support his influencer "career" showing no regard to laws and wildlife does it for me. Make it known to these people making a living off of public land and resources that this will not be tolerated.lifetime hunting ban I would be happy
Obviously all of his Washington muleys. Going off the Washington hunting posts I read, there’s no other plausible answerMakes me wonder how many other animals filmed by lampers were harvested with an invalid and/or no tag.
Kinda cripples his social media content.I'm 100% against the idea that a lifetime hunting ban is any sort of effectivedetergent.
I'm 100% against the idea that a lifetime hunting ban is any sort of effective detergent. They're already poachers, why would a ban make any difference? I mean go ahead and stick them with one, but have some meaningful repercussions beyond that
1. Did you read my entire comment? "go ahead and stick them with one, but have some meaningful repercussions beyond that"No offense but this argument doesn’t hold any weight, but a lot of people keep using it. What do you suggest? A free lifetime license instead? No ban? Come on. It’s an appropriate add on with the fines and jail time.
Think about it like this. When someone doesn’t hold a hunting license and is out in the woods with a rifle, pack frame, game bags, etc they are obviously hunting and there will be a major issue coming across a fish cop. Driving around with binos out the window and a rifle in the truck, going to be an issue. Poachers (and I’ve known more than a few in the past) always buy a hunting license.
So far his penalty is stiffer than anything I've seen for the Somali fraudsters

I'm about to start a Learing Center and retirePretty sure that was a tongue in cheek joke by @ShootsManyBullets but hey, lets turn this thread political and start pointing at both sides of the aisle.

Oregon Poacher Receives Third Lifetime Hunting Ban
Time and again, poachers never seem to get what they deserve. Even in cases with egregious wildlife crimes, securing jail time can be nearly impossible. Every so often though, a district attorney goes for broke in prosecuting a case. Such was the case in Grant County, Oregon, where a 34-year-old...www.themeateater.com
