Does Kalen DeBour finish the season as Alabama’s head coach ?

Bison stomping the Jacks last weekend was fun to see but honestly makes the season a little less exciting if they are truly that much better.
T'was no doubt a stomping, but I think the Jacks keep that game close if Chase Mason is in at QB. Luke Marble was not at all ready to start against anyone, let alone the best team in the country. There were a handful of plays where as soon as he hit his back foot on the drop you could see his mind was swimming. Ball needed to get out faster, but he just wasn't able to process and make the necessary reads.

I wouldn't be shocked if these two meet in the playoffs again.

I mean - would you like to compare various bowl games that the MW has won to viewership in the FCS title game?

I dont think theyd compete year in and year out for a national championship, but i dont think a MW team making the CFP and making noise is impossible.
Compete for Natty or look forward to maybe making noise? I know what sounds better to me and possibly what sounds like a much better sales pitch when recruiting to athletes. šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

I'm an NDSU fan. To me, competitive regular season games against big boy teams would be more exciting than just the foregone conclusion of a W against everyone but a couple teams year after year. The avg FCS game has an attendance of like 7k fans
Both UM Grizzlies and MSU Bobcats draw attendance two or three times that number. Either of those Montana teams is gonna mightily challenge NDSU in near future.

Wish NDSU, ND, MTSU, MT, and SDSU would head to the mountain west.

I think theres a case that those teams would be close in competition to the existing MW.
I am just the opposite I would like to see Wyoming drop down and join those teams

Correct but Montana as a state has no other pro team to have a fan base. Look at what else can be attended in Sacramento area on any given Saturday. If Montana had that, I don’t think you see 20k+ every home game for either team.

At some point a playoff game against the South Central Louisiana State Mud Dogs just isn't exciting.

Probably worse that it just seems like a down year. UNI, youngstown, occasionally USD, Southern IL, Eastern Washington, etc used to be competitive and there just doesn't seem like much out there for good competition. Maybe this is all we can expect from FCS with NIL and transfer portal..
That’s fair. As a Cats fan, I hope NDSU doesn’t move up. I want to see teams beat the best. Not win a Natty because the best left.

I don't see why SDSU, NDSU. MSU, etc. would want to move up. Competing for national championships each year versus trying to scratch out mediocrity against larger schools with much larger athletics budgets.
Not to mention, especially for NDSU and SDSU, those travel budgets would increase substantially joining the Mountain West.

Money, media, and exposure for the university.

Being a mountain west football member is a 5 million dollar deal - no idea what the the missouri valley conference pays but i doubt its that.

Yep ... and if footballs were spherical they likely wouldn't be passed for 90 yards!

They have been a good match for a number of years but the only big game win i can recall is against a down year bison team in 2023. MSU had a good shot against a less dominant NDSU squad last year with Tommy at the helm. The entz years were the years for the getting one on NDSU. Polasek seems to have gotten the machine churning again. Griz seem to be on a tear this year. Who's their best win against thus far? UND?

Because unless the team never wins the big one, beating a seemingly ever weakening FCS lineup every year loses luster.

I didn't realize that the Ivy league schools are eligible to play in the FCS playoffs starting this year. So that's pretty cool, not sure if it'll matter but they have some decent teams at times dont they?

I don't doubt that you are right, I do wonder what the difference would be between the 5 million and being in the Missiouri conference and a full stadium would be.

But in a nice dream UWYO builds a dome and starts playing in a regional FCS conference where fans could get excited about the team and head to Laramie on the weekends,
