Went out behind the ranch yesterday, and thought I'd look for a few shed antlers. I sat down under a Ponderosa pine and began glassing a park, to see if some big tines were poking up from the grass. No luck there. I poked around in the immediate area, and about 3 minutes later I happened to glance back out in the park again. I was shocked to see a large herd of Elk now there. They must have literally run out from the timber to be where they were right after I had quite looking there.
Nice to see we have "a few" Elk on the mountain behind us, and I'm pretty sure there's another, separate band that is a bit North of this crew, but coming off the same Mountain.
(I took a lot of pics zoomed up, but can't frame the entire herd in a single pic unless I just use a pic that isn't zoomed)
