17HMR prarriedogs

One of the rips we always look forward to is our june trip for our prarriedog shoot. My wife and I have pretty much went to shooting solely our 17HMRs. We both shoot Marlin bull barrel in laminate stocks rifles topped with 4-16x40 scopes.We find the 17's more of a challenge than 22 caiber center fires.Out to 250 yard these little rifles are great.

Love those rifles.

It's a nice round. I use a .22 Hornet for the short stuff with Hornady V Maxs and then go to my .243 with 58 grain V Maxs for the longer stuff over 200 yards.

We shoot a lot of "gophers" with our 17hmr and they rarely get away. low wind days I am good to 300 with mine.

I would rather shoot my 17, than any gun that I own. cheap to shoot and no time on the press!
