    What's on the smoker today?

Skin on bone out chicken thighs with Deez Nutz Pecan rub. Also was the first time the weather permitted Moose burgers. Kinders Carmelized Onion Burger rub mixed in. Didn't even think of snapping a pic before they were demolished. Pellet Grill.

    2026 sasuage and processing thread

We also grind extra beef burger for the year and a little bit of leftover pork. It gets to be an expensive weekend but what you save in bulk in the freezer compared to fluctuations in grocery store prices helps in the long run. I didn't have to buy any beef this year. That swap donky is what's...

There's even been bacon done a few times. All depends on what we have time for and how late we stay up babysitting the smoker.

    2026 sasuage and processing thread

Last weekend was our big annual sausage making. Have been doing it with my brother-in-laws family since before he and my sister got married. I made my largest batch in quite a few years mostly in part to use up some of my moose. 100lb batch of our original recipe that had been in their family...

    Anyone Use a Savage 99?

I loaded some 165 accubond's. My rifle didn't seam to care for any accubond really. Unless there's some there's some old old loaded stuff out there from years gone by. Double Tap and Choice Ammo is all that I'm aware of loaded with nything 165.

    Anyone Use a Savage 99?

I'm still looking for a Rem 700 classic or 760 pump in .300 Savage. Would be just as fast if not faster than a lever gun for a quick follow up. I didn't have the funds at the time but handled a model 81 woodsmaster in .300 Savage a few years back at Scheels. That would have been a fun one to...

    Anyone Use a Savage 99?

I have my Grandfather's on Dad's side. A 1947 Model 99 in .300 Sav. I've killed a few deer with it now. It had first chance at my moose tag this last year if'n I didn't connect with my bow (which I did). I had been working up a load for the classic Moose bullet a 150 gr Partition. For deer I...

NOSLER wants to see your success

Opening day buck from 2 yrs ago we jumped while looking for a doe my wife shot. Was literally within 25 steps of him multiple times bedded down while stomping around in knee/chest high river pasture grass (most of that time having set my rifle down leaned up against a small tree). Picked it up...

Late Season NC Public Land 10 PT With Some Regret

Very nice Buck!. Congratulations. Neck shots work. Not my personal cup of tea but I will take a lower frontal shot for sure. I also knkw in the heat of the moment stuff can go sideways real quick. Lot's of vital stuff and even shoulders to mess up and really get the most out of bullet. Way to...

Wanted: Tips and tricks for doing euros

Check out Whitebonecreations on YouTube. This guy knows his stuff and yes like mentioned earlier the pressure washer method is really an awsome way of not messing with most extra little stuff.

    As they lay

Even a moose hunt can turn into a coyote hunt. Opening weekend of archey for my moose tag. Hot and no moose out in the open or spotted for that matter. Decided to climb a rock pile to glass over a small hill halfway down the stubble and low and behold 2 adults and 3 pups out playing and mousing...

    Gopher of a Lifetime

New here and little bit late to the party but driving around in the spring and summer shooting Ground Squirrels/Gophers whatever you call them is absolutely a great way to waste some time. Get some practice in with the bow each summer to in the yard. A few live under the shed and have a hole or two.

    Moose - Lets see em!

North Dakota M6 unit. Got him September 23 about noon. Watched him bed down in a tree row and snuck down the edge of the beans. Saw him sleeping just inside the opposite side in the shade, slid my croc's off and slipped in barefoot. After 10 min sneaking in an open section of knee high grass I...
