    My previous Samsung phone sits in a drawer. It's still a highly loaded device, just not connected with a cell plan now. I can't help but think it ought to be kept charged & in my truck. What are some creative ideas you guys have found as a reason to keep this phone handy?

    Stay informed on what hoot owl restrictions are in force & where algal bloom advisories may be in place this late in the season. And if you are inclined to hike 6-8 miles in to reach some of the high mountain lakes in the region, you might find it more rewarding than fishing along the road...

    Phone battery life can be poor with some OnX use, tracking, cold or very cold temperatures, and long days afield. Relying solely on any phone, without backup power, is just not as reliable a way to go while out in the mountains, in my experience.
