I'd invite you all to NY to spend about $300 bucks on a NR deer tag, and a bear tag comes along with it. You can shoot a mediocre forky on the over crowded state lands and see how inefficient government agencies don't work!
Seriously though, I would agree that MT does need to cut NR license...
Based on this and most of the other posts on this site, it seems that residents of Montana would rather there not be NR at all....
Good luck funding FWP without our huge donations every year.
And yes, NR should consider other options, most states have cheaper NR tags and opportunities are...
That's not the story I have gotten from a couple buddies who are guides, but then again, that's only a couple, and they are from the same outfit.
As a NR who has hunted with an outfitter, and DIY, I am supportive of LE draws. The population can't support the number of tags they are handing...
Having LE or regional tags isn't shitting on outfitters. It's how it should be. I'm not advocating for unlimited tags, and any outfitter booking as many clients as they possibly can will hunt out their ground quick.
I said earlier that when I went, the outfitter cut 30 hunters per year...
Have you hunted with an outfitter in Montana?
When I purchase an outfitter endorsed point, my tag is only valid when im physically hunting with that outfitter. Not valid on public or private without that outfitter. My tag will be punched on land that is probably private, and probably would...
I've hunted with Outfitters twice in Montana. Both times I spent large quantities of cash in the local economies. License and tag money to the state, fees to the outfitter, money spent with the meat cutter, restaurants, gas stations...
Going after someone spending thousands of dollars in the...
This thread got me thinking... I ordered a Glock 30 Gen 5 this morning. Sub compact 45 acp. Figured I should get something while they are still available!
.40 s&w was the round that many law enforcement agencies used for years. Ammo cost and availability have driven many of them to the 9mm, as well as the ability to mount optics on the Gen 5. The recoil reduction on the 9mm is significant enough to make many average shooters better.
I've emailed my senators, but they are both Dems, so I'm not sure it makes a difference. I am going to email my Rep, but as a staunch MAGA idiot, I'm sure he will vote the way he's told.
I have used, and continue to use projectiles that contain lead. I have started to work with non lead projectiles, and once I find a load that I like and my guns like, I will probably start using non lead more.
Looks like people are dumping points, some easier to draw units had people using 10+ points when 1 or 2 was all that was needed. Maybe they didn't know, or maybe they are going to be done accumulating points.
