What 100 year old cartridges do you use
I’m after the 1:12. Hope to shoot heavier bullets but the thought of the lighter pistol bullets sounds fun. Hammer makes some 255 grain ones I’m interested in trying. -

6.5 creedmore 143 grain eldx
I’m not a fan, but my cuz uses them. Killed 15 animals. 5 were elk. Out to 421 yards. All were perfectly placed. No tracking involved and no follow up shots required. I’m still not a fan but his results as of now are undeniable.- Dan-06

Sounds like you have already described it. The 6.8 western. 22 in barrel titanium suppressor, a basic jerky flavor with mandarin oranges added smoked over hickory and apple wood. -

Trying new rifles this season
I’m still using a 1972 model 70 in 30-06. Until it lets me down it’s the only one I reach for. -

I have the perfect truck for you. It’s an 05 Chevy. It has as a lifter going out. Other than that. Most of the things have been fixed, rebuilt, or upgraded.- Dan-06

Trail building and rock breaking.
I like your idea. Might be worth looking into those seirra blasters. Maybe a 5 or 7 power head string. That would help break down the bigger stuff so your smaller tractor and breaker would work.- Dan-06

Who’s got a 6 arc?
Swapping the barrel outta my 6.5 Grendel. It’s an ar platform. Same every thing else. Using the seirra 100 grain pro hunters. It’s a good option for smaller animals. -

rifle chamber scratching brass
Take a fired case, resize it and make it a little smaller. Drill out primer and then thread it. Put a bolt in the threaded hole. Chuck up in a drill. Put very fine lapping compound on the case. Then insert and spin. Do small amounts. Clean very, very well when done.- Dan-06

There are plenty to choose from out there. I would look on the south east side of continental peak. The spring starts there. Always a good spot. Takes about 20 minutes to walk.
