    300 wsm Ballistics help

The problem has been solved. I was running through all the things for what felt like the 1000th time when I realized the chassis was loose, giving the barrel some bounce. I tightened it up, and now it's shooting as it should be. I appreciate all the input from everyone. happy hunting!

    300 wsm Ballistics help

double checking all the things as all commented on, I then talked to Vortex and they asked that I try a test at the range with the paper and BDC crosshair measurements.... given all other things are correct and my accuracy is consistent it might be bad glass etching

    300 wsm Ballistics help

I'm using a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50 BDC. I double-checked the scope height and it is correct at 2.25" from the middle of the barrel to the middle of the scope. I'm shooting 3 shot groups and my zeros are within a half dollar on or touching the bullseye. I've adjusted for elevation, temp in the...

    300 wsm Ballistics help

Thanks for the response. 1. I was about 6-8' from the Chrono as suggested in the manual due to muzzle blast. 2. Scope height is 2.25" 3. Drag, using G1 at .608 I did double check and they are all set correctly. I fiddled around with the variables just for kicks and I would need to be at...

    300 wsm Ballistics help

Hey all, Hoping someone would have a good answer for me about some mid-range ballistics. Situation: I'm shooting a Savage 110 Ultralite 300wsm (1:10 twist) with a Omega300 sup. and pairing that with Federal Terminal accent 200gr. I've chrono'd my rifle and averaging 2804 ft./sec. (ammo box...

    Christensen Arms, what's the verdict?

I was interested in the same Christiansen model when I was looking for a new larger caliber rifle earlier this year then I actually put my hands on it and wasn't impressed. I'm big on fit, feel and handling before I even bother to shoot it and it just didn't meet my requirements

    Is less more?

I’ll have to remember that, I do that with honkers and I’m pretty consistently 2 for 3 when presented the opportunity, never thought of doing it with pheasants…. Then there’s grouse, I don’t have a prayer with those things lol

Dogs are Hunting Partners - Let's see 'em

Copper, the offspring of a buddies dogs (he trains world class waterfowl dogs), dogs line goes back to 1870s with 3 world champion labs and countless finished titles… I’m not a great trainer but with that blood he knows what to do

Funny enough I can drop a bluebill at Mach Jesus going from left to right at 30 yards but I can’t hit a pheasant for the life of me lol

    D Day

Much respect, I was in the 82nd for awhile during OIF and it’s amazing how many people don’t know the insane history of the jumps during the WW2… guess that band of brothers show made the 101st seem more famous but it’s far from the truth of it

    The New Cam Hanes Flick

Cam seems legit, you can’t fake running 20+ miles a day if your heart ain’t in it, and parent a kid thats an Army Ranger and the other that owns MtnOps. I know a lot of his hunts are guided which isn’t my thing but he promotes a positive lifestyle and position on conservation so it’s hard to...
