7x57, 8x57, 9.3x62,250-3000, 30-06, 9x56 MS, 30 remington, 35 remington. The only 2 rifles I own in calibers that are less than 100 years old are a savage99 in 308 and a Howa 1500 in 350 legend.
I watch birds on the feeders and encourage my black lab to chase the squirrels away from the bird feeders. That and repair the bird feeders after the bears visit. Keeps life interesting.
Thank you for the clarification. I never wear a backpack while hunting as we don’t have to walk the distances that hunters west of the Mississippi are used to. Now I understand. If I had my rifle strapped to a backpack I most certainly would not have a round in the chamber.
Not trying to be a SA but how does one rub off a safety? I have been hunting for 60 years and have never had my weapons safety rub off unless I took it off to shoot.
Only scope I ever had lose zero was a vortex that the horizontal adjustment dial stopped working. It was mounted on a 35 Whelen. Don’t use vortex anymore. I put a 20 year old Leoupold 3x9 on it and it is still on it 5 years later.
Well fellas you can continue to debate ad nauseam but I am going hunting and will have a round in the chamber and the safety on until I am ready to fire.
You obviously are not a still hunter! I don’t count either stance as stupid. Each hunter must make his own decision based on his methods of hunting and shooting.
