The NM unit-wide landowner tag. Big mess. In some of those units there are over 1000 unit-wide landowner tags given out and then later sold. So, someone either draws a tag in the state's system, or buys a unit-wide tag, and they think they are going on a great hunt, with low hunting... -

2024 New Mexico Draw Results
I drew a NM elk tag in my first year of applying. Beginners luck! Had a great hunt. And have, predictably, been shut out every single year since then.....going on about 8 years or so....expecting the same this year, too. (I think they do that on purpose - give out a tag to a brand new...- Maverick1

Wool hunting clothing
Only use merino wool as a baselayer. It is not very good as an insulating layer. There are better outer layers for blocking the wind.- Maverick1

Broken drill bit removal in rifle stock
Try a reverse drill bit set. They make them specifically for removing screws that snap off. Might be a bit difficult to drill into a snapped off drill bit, but perhaps worth a try. If that does not work, perhaps think about using a small diameter hole saw and filling in the spot with some...- Maverick1
