I vote for the 6MM Dasher. It is the baby brother to the 243 but with 55% less recoil. I'm pushing a 107 SMK at 2880 FPS. Holding a .038 group at 200 yds. Only bad thing is you have to reload for it.
I have seen this several times! We had a hunter on our lease drop a beautiful 12 point and did not retrieve it until the next morning. Well needless to say the yotes had a feast.
Hey Folks. I'm new to this form but not to hunting. I've been shooting all my life and also build rifles as a hobby. Dang the bad luck! It keeps me broke! Well I'm starting a get a little time on my hands and wanting to get back into "Big Game" hunting. Randy has inspired me into public...

I shot on the Navy Marksmanship team for ten for before retiring and won several Sec Nav Trophy rifles for shooting long range "1000 YDS". I practice at shooting 100 for 1400 yds regularly at a range about 40 miles from the house. I have dopes on all my rifles so I'm ready for what comes. I...
There is nothing wrong with the 30.06. I own two M-1 Grands (one in 30.06 and one in 308 (Sec Nav Trophy rifle)). I'm gathering parts for my next rifle and looking at building a lightweight 284 Norma off of a Remington LA. I own a lathe and mill so I do my own work except for barrel contouring...
With the 260 Remington. You will not go wrong! I build rifles as a hobby and I build a new hunting rifle every few years. Last year I built a Remington 260 IMP with 30 degree shoulders. My platform was a Remington SA (RR prefix) PT&G one piece bolt with the body milled to .703 and bolt...
