I think we've hit a saturation point for deer harvest in WI. Successful hunters just don't want to shoot any more than 1-2 deer, on average, and it's difficult to make them shoot more. In fact, they resent it after a year or so and march on the Capitol.
Resize is a 1 step process and is straightforward. I don’t have any properly headstamped 358 win or 35 whelen brass. It all came from the parent cases. Lube well, inside and out, and go for it. I lose maybe 2 cases per 100
I listened to most of the meeting. Nearly 50 people testified. The board kicked around some ideas, but failed to pass anything. Meeting adjourned after about 5 hours. It seems that tribal treaty rights may have been the big issue causing some board members to not support an immediate hunt...
I think state law requires a wolf hunt to begin on Nov 1 or the weekend closest to Nov 1. Starting one now would require a change to state law, and the divide between legislature and governor will make that difficult.
And the state has been sued to challenge the delisting
I think this was an unusual but solid choice. I have used my 870 12 ga with smoothbore slug barrel for walking around in the thick stuff, and never felt short changed. None of the deer taken that way were happy about it.
