My most consistent is a Remington 788 in .308 Win. In 30 years I've used three different scopes with several factory and hand loads. It will shoot sub MOA and performs well in the field. Made my longest shot with it at 615 paces.
Mariano, please forgive the late response. I've taken a break from the site and just now saw your post. How was your trip? Did you stop in Alabama?
As for the hunting on public land in Alabama... it can be difficult to find a good spot without prior scouting. I've been hunting the same tracts...
My NAUI certification was in 1980 and most of my dives have been in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean. However, I did a couple of dives in the Gulf of California. Have always wanted to dive the Southern California coast but perhaps I'm getting a little old for that pursuit...
Happy Myles, I'm glad you're getting over the virus. Was thinking of you today and wondering if you've been able to stay healthy this Winter. Were you able to hunt during 2020? - Best wishes
I have a Remington 7400 carbine in .30-06 that does a little less than 2 MOA. It's very handy for hunting woods with shots less than 100 yards. But for aimed shots, my bolt-action .308 is almost as fast. Years ago I did some hunting with a Remington 870 using 2-3/4 inch 1 oz slugs. Aimed shots...
I've only used a corded electric around the house for light duty. If you go corded, make sure you get a quality cord of at least 12AWG, even with a generator. Too much voltage drop from too small conductors or too long of a run can destroy your motor.
I don't stay overnight but solo hunt in the Alabama woods, probably further from the vehicle than I should. So take my experience with that in mind.
Most often I'll have a cheap camo 6'x8' tarp in my pack, 50ft of paracord, 4 tent pegs, and 4 ball/loop bungies. It's thick enough to sit or lay...
I couldn't say about that. About every 2weeks I use electric clippers on my head with a #2 attachment. Just hang my head over a tarp and get it done, cutting what little hair I have left. Saves a lot of time and money on haircuts.
in a way, that's how I view using the 6.5 CM on deer and pigs...
