The deer I grew up hunting in Michigan make an annual migration to their winter yarding grounds that can be as much as 12ish miles one way. Come February, there was not a track to be found in the places we hunted in November.
I doubt there is a person on this planet who could look through a spotter and say with confidence that it's legal. To shoot that thing was to be reckless. I too have my doubts it was legal, but regardless, shooting it was irresponsible and a gamble. Perhaps for somebody of his stature it was...
I am glad I'm not the only one with reservations about that ram. If I shot that my stress would be so high on the packout before checking it in my stomach would be acting like I ate some of @EYJONAS! famous snacks.
Unfortunately the doctor just informed me that I have developed bursitis in my knee from a mountain biking accident. I am devastated that I won't be able to hunt for the next few weeks at a minimum. Hoping I can carve out time if the quota stays open into October. Good luck everybody!
I too will be heading in this year, albeit for the first time. Planning on heading in on the 11th for 8 days. Good luck to everyone, my neck is already sore from looking up at the learning curve ahead of me.
I see there is a ram down in 502. It will be interesting to see whether the quota gets filled. Seems like its been a good year for the unlimiteds so far.
