I’m only 23 so I haven’t bought and sold too many guns yet, but one i wish I didn’t get rid of was a laminate stock, bull barreled 10/22 w/ the old style mag release. But I only ever shot it once so I sold it to fund something else
If I remember right it’s because the safety trigger blade doesn’t go completely into the main trigger, it’s protrudes a little. So you’re left with a very narrow contact point on your finger.
Obviously everyone’s hands and grip are different so for some people this will be a non issue. But I...
I have a 43x and love it, but many people, including me, need to swap the trigger shoe because it’ll give you a pretty good blister. You can also buy a 43 frame for about $100 (and a mag) and just swap the slide if you ever want something smaller for the day.
Used one of these in 30-06 for a few years for deer and elk, my last deer with it, it wouldn’t feed the second round (I hand fed it and still got the shot off), but I haven’t touched it since. Been about 3 years
Sold my Hell's canyon 30-06, replacing it with a savage ultralite 30-06 (if i can find a camo one in stock lol) for me elk rifle. Also making a 25-06 savage lightweight storm for deer and antelope.
I’ve used 30-06 and .270 a ton for elk. I’ve seen absolutely no difference in performance between the two. Shoot them in the lungs at under 100 yards; they go 50 yards and tip over
