Ultra light elk rifle suppressed? Christensen Arms Ridgeline FFT 300 PRC thoughts?

Nice, I appreciate your feedback. I also carry with the gun bearer and agree, the suppressor would rest basically in front of my face blocking my view to some degree and reflecting light. The 300 WSM in a 18 or 20" sounds like a good option as well but the velocities start to drop off and...

Ultra light elk rifle suppressed? Christensen Arms Ridgeline FFT 300 PRC thoughts?

Thanks I will most likely be running factory Hornady outfitter 190 CX in the 300 prc, until I have supplies for reloading all set up. I definitely like the availability of factory ammo in the 300 wsm. The one situation that tips the scales for me is if it was the last day of a hunt or a bull of...

Ultra light elk rifle suppressed? Christensen Arms Ridgeline FFT 300 PRC thoughts?

Thoughts or first hand experience with the new 2022 Christensen Arms Ridgeline FFT in a 300 PRC or similar cartridge. Its a 5.5lb +/- rifle in a 22" barrel (kicks like a mule) right?. I am putting on a thunder beast ultra 7" suppressor, and a Leupold 5HD 3x15x 44. Total weight with scope...

Sighting in rifle and getting barrel jump

I am in the process of sighting in an 7mm rem mag Mauser M18 (about 8lbs total with scope). I have seen some barrel jump (high impacts from various ammo) from the bench with my current gun vise. I recently decided to purchase a front rest Caldwell Rock Deluxe Front Rest Adjustable stand and...

    Barnes TTSX VS Nosler E-Tip

I have been finding some poor quality control coming from the Barnes Factory Ammo, mostly small dings in the casings. These could be seconds that they are shipping out because of the ammo shortage... It does not seem to be too major yet, but I am seeing more and more bad reviews from what was a...

    Bad factory ammo from Barnes

I picked up a new box of TTSX and they were all seconds. Every casing had dings. Looking to switch to Nosler E-tip.

7MM Rem Mag Black Hills Gold Barnes TSX 140 grain, elk medicine?

Thanks for the input, I will stick with the BH ammo Barnes 140gr tsx as it's easy for me to buy locally here in the Black Hills and shoots well in my rifle. Appreciate the info!

7MM Rem Mag Black Hills Gold Barnes TSX 140 grain, elk medicine?

Just curious what the forum thinks of the 7mm rem mag 140gr. TSX. I had success this year at close range on an elk. Thoughts on pushing this set up out to 450 to 500 yards. Its lighter than I would like to use, and I am looking for a 175 grain TSX factory load for 2021. I was told the...

    Fitness Ideas

I would recommend a bicycle. Its low impact, gets the cardio, and works the legs. You can get a trainer for the bike when weather is poor. Don't over do it in the first month ease into it.

    Kenetrek Mountain Extremes

I definitely like having uninsulated leather boots. Great all around boot for most terrain. Unfortunately, like all things, specialized equipment can get your head spinning. You'll probably want an insulated boot for the sub zero temps though or risk cold injuries. With a leather uninsulated...

    7mm Rem Mag Cartridge

Black Hills Gold Barnes 7mm rem mag TSX 140 Gr. and my rifle groups sub moa at 200 yards. My only concern is that 140grains is a little lighter than I would prefer for elk. I am having a hard time finding monolithic bullets in the 7mm rem mag with heavier grains (160 or 175). I have also...
