Colorado 76 first rifle here I come
I drew my 76 first rifle hunt This year I live a few hours away so plan on spending a lot of the summer over there. I have been e scouting and looking at the northern end of the unit. If anyone has any information on this unit l would greatly appreciate it. -

I should draw 76 first rifle this year I’m holding 8 points. After a lot of research and back and fourth waited until the last day and decided with point creep 76 was my best option. I guess we will see -

Elk in unit 74 Colorado
I live close to 74 and hunted it since I was a kid and every year the elk numbers seem to go down. Gets a little tougher don’t get me wrong there is still elk but definitely better units out there. This just isn’t 74 all of the surrounding unit are in the same boat. I will be traveling this year... -

Colorado deer 3rd season Unit 70
I live close to 70 pretty decent unit. You will see lots of deer on private but if you put in some time you can find a decent buck on public usually during 3rd you will see a little pre rut and if it gets cold they really start moving. -

Colorado 3rd Season Rifle
74 for a 3rd will be pretty tough most deer have moved lower by then. Lots of public but will be crowded with elk hunters. 75 has some public low but has lots of pressure and moves most of the deer onto private -

Like mentioned above can be very crowded .But in most units you can get away from crowds if you just put miles between you and any road or trail. -

Did Colorado Break the Elk Bank This Year?
I was born and raised in sw Colorado and over the years I have noticed a decline in elk numbers over the past few years. Have also talked with game and fish they have said that there is definitely a decline in elk numbers but can’t give a reason. I have my own theories like to much hunting... -

I found this site a few weeks ago and been checking things out. Thought I would make it official and join. A little about me I live in southwest Colorado. Hunt deer and elk every year just started getting into antelope. Have horses and love to hunt and fish the back country have a 6 yr daughter...
