Best (and Worst) Muzzleloading Bullet Experiences

Thor bullets. Buy the test bullets to see which fits your bore diameter the best. Then go from there. I get superb accuracy out of my LR and my CVA MR out of them. A close second would be the Barnes but they are hard to find sometimes. Sub MOA is easily attainable with the Thors in your...

    Not realy a hunting question

8lb test mono and a medium 2 piece ugly stick with spinning reel. Mepps and Blue Fox Spinners around 1/8 oz. (you can err on the side of caution and get a few slightly bigger and slightly smaller depending on how much tackle you want to carry. Spoons around the same weight.. like the super...

    Whitehots and powerbelt stuck.

Air compressor will work like Mallardsx2 stated many times... the CO2 trick will work too. if you can get some powder down the nipple like others have stated and try igniting it that way it might work too by simply shooting it with the extra powder charge. If all else fails... take it...

    Healthy bread; What is there?

The KoMos are really really great mills! we have a Country Living grain mill I hooked up to a small motor. One of these days I would like to get the KoMo.. I have a friend that has one and its bulletproof and grinds a great consistancy usually in the first pass.

    Healthy bread; What is there?

Depending on what your willing to spend... you can buy wheat berries and a mill and have bread better than anything you can get from the store. We grind our own corn and wheat and to say theres a difference is a understatement. Even if you dont want to spend the money on a mill theres usually a...

    Sell me on a 45-70

I have a CVA scout in 45-70... its a tack driver and puts stuff down with some solid authority. I will second what others have said on the Marlins. My 35 Rem and my 375 Win both are wonderful shooters and absolutely hammer critters. The JM Marlins are in my opinion far superior in many ways to...

2023 BEAR SEASON RESULTS SHOW DROP IN TOTAL HARVEST AND HUNTER SUCCESS RATES

Same Here.. heavy acorn crop had them sticking close to food.. slow hunting for the most part till you found a good stand of white oaks or grapes, I ended up killing one during late muzzleloader while he was munching down in a big stand of white oaks.

    Rock Chucker and/or Turret Press

I will also agree with the above... I have both a Rock Chucker and a Hornaday progressive. I use my RC to load all my bolt gun stuff simply because I like the simplicity of it and feel like I can control everything a little better. my progressive I use for target pistol stuff, 223 and 308...

    New ruger american Gen II

Bought one in 7mmHT a week ago... I wasnt a fan of the original Ruger American simply because I could get a Savage Axis that I knew would look about the same and probably shoot just as good if not better for substantially less. Bought it for the oldest to use as her everything gun since she is...

Has anyone hunted elk from a kayak

I don't know about a kayak but I use a couple different canoes to get into and out of some areas that otherwise don't get hunted. Like others have said.. you'll run into issues getting the meat out in the kayak. I have done a smaller deer once in one but wont do it again. A raft or canoe you...

Winchester M70 long action blank canvas... ideas on what to build.

Well... I find myself in a odd predicament. I have a action that is in need of a new barrel. seeing that I have a couple 270s, a 25-06, 2 30-06s.. and a 35 Whelen as far as long action calibers go... I wanted to possibly build a 280AI or maybe another 270 with a 25 inch barrel and a 1-8 inch...

Solo 9 day fishing and grouse camp in the Boundary waters. The grouse hunting was exceptional last year. Lake trout were turning on really well and the walleye were starting to feed a little.
