    New from Michigan's UP

I believe it’s the Ottawa national forest. I used to bear hunt over there a lot but the wolves have become a huge issue. Between the 3 bad winters and the explosion of the wolf population our whitetail herd in the UP has been devastated in most places.

Thanks, I grew up on Lake Superior and worked on a charter boat as a kid. I still spend a ton of time out there in the summer. Too many hobbies and not enough time.

When I moved down there from the UP I couldn’t believe how many deer there were in that area.

Our deer heard in the UP is way down right now between the last 3 bad winters and the explosion of our wolf population. You may still be able to find a nice buck in that area. It’s beautiful country in the porkies.

    Savage lightweight storm

I have one in a 6.5. It’s a super accurate lightweight rifle but I hate the stock. Looking at putting a Boyd’s on it.

Ok. Just for fun. What's the worst broad head you have ever used

Muzzy One, they flew great for me but were extremely loud and very dull. Took a lot of work to get them sharp.

    Pump Rifles

I have a 7600 carbine in 30-06 and I have killed a pile of whitetail with it. By far my favorite rifle. I’ve always been amazed how accurate it is.

Small world. There’s not a day goes by that I don’t think about Scott. I was really close with him. We may have met before. Everyone calls me Logger. A nickname that has stuck with me since I was a baby. Lol

    Skinner sights?

I had one on a Henry 45-70 and 22 mag. I loved them. They’re extremely durable and you can change apertures as needed. My eyes just got too bad and had to scope both rifles.

What exactly would you like to know? I’d be happy to answer any questions. The most common misconception is that it’s easy. It’s very rare that the dogs will catch or tree a bear in a nice area. It alway seems to be in the biggest hell holes in the area. The hike into them is usually wet and...
