Forest Service Reorg - Progress or Politics

I wish I could remember the last time I saw weed spraying. I really don’t care who is doing it, just do more of it.

Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

Yep. I can't wait until the recent export numbers are released. "Energy independence" means selling our oil to China.

Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

Fair. Most of what you describe came from rigorous debate and smart policy (clean air act was 1970, back when both parties could talk to each other). But it is defined by perspective. Regarding those changes, your position defined it as a "war on O&G" while I most saw it as a move toward cleaner...

    Pebble Mine Update

I think Trump blocked the permit late in first term. I have been watching closely to see it get approved because it seems like something that is low-hanging fruit for how the 2nd Admin wants to operate. I assume they are waiting for the various lawsuits to play out. Or, as has been suggested...

    Any hockey fans out there?

Excellent series. I was worried for Wild after Wallstedt misplayed the second goal, but he pulled it together. It seemed like Dallas lacked urgency after Wild tied it back up at 2. Next series doesn't get easier. Enjoy the rest and hope the Avs are rusty.

Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

So the war on O&G is some people saying a bunch of mean things about them and hurting their feelings before letting them drill? Ok.

Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

Somebody is taking the offer. When you think about it, what’s the difference between farming 500 acres of corn that will be used for Ethanol and 500 acres of solar panels that will generate electricity? Besides the cost of the tractor, combine and trucks, not much.

Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

The LCOE is based on lifetime. I’m not sure you can exclude the building cost difference from the equation. Maintenance costs for solar continue to decline but they are generally pretty low at baseline. I’m not sure what they are for coal and nat gas but the 24/7/365 power plant is a myth...

Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

OK, your original comment about "never replacing" was nonsense. Let's put that to the side. When you have a view, spending 15 minutes trying to prove yourself wrong is time well spent. I admited "overwhelmingly from renewables" should have either said "majority from renewables" or...

Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

I understand that you are skeptical. I have found it is impossible to change a persons view, even if the data is clear. I'm old enough that I joke- thank goodness for young people because the older people get the more sure they are of stuff that is largely incorrect. Here is an exercise- take a...

Or, the problem is I lumped nuclear in with renewables.

Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

This table below is from the link you posted. Jump to 2024 when a couple of large scale solar farms started up. The 2025 numbers moved in the same direction (less Nat Gas, more wind and solar). Quick math on 2024, excluding nuclear (CA likes to add it in and call the category 'zero carbon')...

Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

The vilification of O&G is mostly a narrative created by lobbyists. No politician wants higher fuel prices, but there are certainly differences in the approaches. The stock market doesn't lie and it disagrees with the "never come close" part. It's just a matter of time. Most of the US economic...

Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

They got ripped off. This latest kerfuffle just transfers money from the average American to the oil co. The World is discovering that energy security is the cornerstone of sovereignty (that and maybe a nuclear weapon). Americans are discovering that $2/gal gas is not a God-given right. The...

    Any hockey fans out there?

I have heard that the goal was to create division rivalries by making playoff matchups. Seems unnecessary. And no one cares about Divisions.I have never heard anyone brag about winning the Atlantic or Central or whatever.

    WY preference point increase

It’s cheap because they aren’t required to pay their share. And the same people will complain vociferously about FWP. No way out of the whirlpool circling the drain.

    Any hockey fans out there?

There are great series, they just shouldn’t happen in first round. Now you have some top teams not playing for a week and others in a dog fight. That just creates an excuse to complain if a team loses. One team is beat up by playing a 6-7 game series and the other feels like they go cold not...
