Silencers, barrel length and cartridges
How do you like the scythe on the .300 WSM? I have a Tikka t3x stainless in that caliber that I’m planning on having cut to 20”, threads would be 1/2x28 due to the thinner barrel. Trying to determine what suppressor I want and also the best mounting solution.- bklotthor

New Tikka Model
Anyone know if tikka will ever make a shorter t3x with a threaded barrel? A simple 20” factory threaded barrel would be great. -
North AK Caribou Hunt Dates
Planning a caribou hunt for 2026. Have an airboat transporter booked. This will be a diy float trip, transporter is taking us up either the Ivashak or Echooka River depending on flows then we will float back down towards the Dalton Hwy. I am not sure as I did not score him yet. I would guess right around 300 but I’m also not the best at judging size. -

That's basically what our conclusion was as well. On the morning of the 24th we found what we think was an area with a hot cow as there was a herd bull and three satellites bugling and responding to a breeding sequence type of setup. -

It was pretty wild. Everything was perfect about the stalk, steady cross wind, bull looking the opposite direction, our location being above his, and it had just showered about an hour before which helped with noise. -

Just got back home from 8 days of elk hunting in the eastern Bighorns. We were there 9/16-9/24. The bulls were really quiet until the morning of the 24th. I would guess that we heard a total of 5 or less bugles before that morning and we were covering 10-15 miles per day all over different parts... -

Savage 99 restoration FINISHED
Looks great! I have a Savage Model 99 in .300 savage. Bought by my great uncle back in the 60's and passed down to me about 15 years ago. Still have the original receipt and everything. Still in good shape but someday I'd like to have it restored. Its a heck of a rifle for Nebraska whitetails... -

Interesting, how would the change to a regional quota system for general NR elk effect the total number of general tags issued to NR? The link statues that the 7,250 cap would be removed, so would there be less tags overall issued to NR or would the total stay the same?
