    CO Pronghorn Buck Stolen

Man, you guys sharp shoot every word but what I actually said was "old, fat, AND probably drunk" I ran into them earlier in the day trying to get access to private land. 2 of them were toasted, even the one behind the wheel. I could smell the beer while standing 5 feet from their truck. But...

    CO Pronghorn Buck Stolen

I understand, last year I filled my tag on day one a ranch that I've established a good friendship with. Unfortunately I applied for points this year and was in australia when the leftovers posted. By the time I returned it was slim pickings and after 3 full days in a unit i was unfamiliar with...

    CO Pronghorn Buck Stolen

Thanks mtmiller, I guess everyone thought I literally meant stolen from my pocket. That's not what I was implying, I actually typed up the story and tried to post but got the alert to add a title. I had no idea what to say so to keep it short I put CO pronghorn stolen. I know now I should've...

    CO Pronghorn Buck Stolen

Sorry, was beginning to think that unit was unique in regards to parking and that's why nobody understood. Either way he's steak n burger now :(

    CO Pronghorn Buck Stolen

Another hunter shared a story with me about his hunt being ruined in that unit bc rubber neckers saw his stalk from the road and the GF driver dropped her BF off and he climbed the fence only to scare the lope off. The hunter called CPW but since the person was dropped off and did not park on...

    CO Pronghorn Buck Stolen

Bc you can only enter the land from the one and only designated parking lot. CPW issued tickets to those that parked any where else. I don't make the rules folks. For the record the location was Turkey Track Ranch STL, GMU118. I heard a 2nd lot may open up on the north side next year.

    CO Pronghorn Buck Stolen

Jump into the fray without reading whole thread much? I can't say I went to journalism school so again, before you all, I admit to a poor choice of title selection but the message about trespassing and hunting ethics is there.

    CO Pronghorn Buck Stolen

Good point LCH, ignorance is bliss I suppose. Funny that CPW was there in the morning giving tickets to those that entered the area outside of the designated parking lot. Too bad he didn't hang out longer. And look, to some of the others saying I'm boohoooing... I came to this forum after...

    CO Pronghorn Buck Stolen

Valid points but like I said I bumped into them earlier and knew where they had access to. Plus the corner the buck was bedded was inaccessible from private within the 30 min remaining of hunting time solid hour or more from private. And the carcass drag went to the fence line at the hwy...

    CO Rifle Opener

Congrats. My buddy and I finished up a public land hunt and talked to a group of 3 that were heading in and I remember one of them wearing the same stuff as the guy in the middle. Sound familiar or just a coincidence? Either way, way to get it done!!

    CO Pronghorn Buck Stolen

I'll try to make this complaint as short as possible. After a day of walking around public land for pronghorn I decided to pull out and glass into the area to plan for the next morning. Something caught my eye while driving and I turned around, pulled off onto a dirt road and glassed. Boom...

Ft Carson Elk Hunting Help Needed

I guess I have to eat my words since I was looking at 2016 not 2017 statistics but still stand with the 2000 mile journey vs Fort Carson regulations & training.

Ft Carson Elk Hunting Help Needed

What I mean is 591 is OTC or a limited draw of late season cow oct 1 - Jan 31. I'm looking at stats from CPW from 2016 showing 3rd rifle success of 19% with 17 harvests of 91 hunters. Or if you drew the late season cow I see 38% success with 6 cows, 2 calves harvested of 21 hunters. I live...

Ft Carson Elk Hunting Help Needed

There are better options with 3rd rifle OTC than Fort Carson. I spent my last 5 years training reservists out there, many times we'd get last minute ranges and I'm sure it ruined some hunting plans. Sadly I hated it but officers always came up with "new ideas". I mostly saw pronghorn, turkey...

    Co gmu 28

I haven't hunted it yet but I scouted it a few weeks ago and the area you're referring to was steep steep steep timber. I personally decided on hiking further in and my tag is 2nd rifle.

CO Hugo SWA Camping #113 Late Season

Yes I have the late season doe tag. And thanks for the heads up, I'll probably give it try anyway. I won't be hunting in Hugo, just camping and hunting east of there.
