Love those cats and canines! We are definitely going to have to figure those out as well. Alabama closes the bobcat trapping season this weekend, but we will be ready for the fall. The boys got another two raccoons this morning. They both said they can’t wait to check again tomorrow morning.- D-Mac

Poured all last night so we did not have as high of hopes for this morning. However, we also got an Alabama silver fox this morning haha. Another small raccoon as well. Reset those traps and freshened up the rest of them!- D-Mac

The boys said they saw raccoon tracks along the creek, so we decided to set our two dog proofs out last night. A few marshmallows later, well actually a lot more were eaten by the boys than were used as bait. However, we are on the board with one raccoon. Re-baited and we will see how tomorrow...- D-Mac

Great question! We talked this over after the hunt. We were overall very happy with our choices. If we were to return we would have a better spotting scope, our topped out at 35x and made it hard to tell on some of the further deer. We had been advised to “avoid the alders, they are very hard to walk through”. Easy, we thought. We were wrong. Honestly, I’m not sure if our boots were just too wet, too much humidity in general or what, but they did not dry them. I think they did help and they were dryer than they would be otherwise, but it was still damp boots each morning. Maybe in a less humid environment they would work better.- D-Mac
