Worth it to have the action trued

Thankfully no :) I did pick up a S&W 915 in a trade for and old rifle I wasn't using, it's a little on the heavy side for packing around but it's fun to shoot. -

Barrel Break-in
I follow Erik Cortina's method for breaking in a barrel, which is to say he doesn't. A barrel does speed up for the first 80-100 rounds so I guess that's a "break in" but I clean it as needed not using a prescribed formula. -

I have read all of Nathan's books (except the most recent one which I think is more of a memoir) and consider him to be somewhat of an authority as his documented kill count is in the 1000s. BUT.... Bigger advantage in a VX-3i Leupold riflescope?
+1 (or 2 or 3?) on going with the 40mm objective. For a hunting rig the lower you can get that scope down the easier it's going to be for you to use. The 20moa base is going to raise the back of the scope up more than a flat rail, so having the small objective will help you keep it low. That's... -

You should be able to get there. I ran the 162ELDX up over 2900 with no pressure issues with H4831. It's probably going to be my backup load when I run out of H1000.
