    Fluted Barrels / Vertical Stringing

    A gunsmith I know will not flute barrels. He has been in the business for at least 25 years. He did some tests on flute vs non flute. It seems that where the flutes start the inside of the barrel opens up just a tad. I would have to back and listen to his podcast about his findings.

    Nightforce nxs vs Leupold mark v

    I've had a nightforce NXS for the last couple years....its a great scope but doesn't have the glass that the Mark 5 has. If I had the money I would replace my NXS with a Mark 5 in a heart beat.

    Nightforce SHV or Swaro Z5??

    The swaro is going to have better glass then the nightforce SHV and NXS. But I hear the ATACR is some pretty nice glass. I have an NXS 5.5-22X56 and its not bad. Thinking about getting rid of it and getting a Leupold Mark 8

    Vortex Kaibabs

    Another company to check out is Maven. My kids got me an early fathers day gift, Maven B2 9X45, I absolutely love them. Extremely clear and a very large field of view at 1000 yards, its like 377 feet. My next set will be the B4 15X56. They are factory direct so you save a lot of money.

    Anyone shooting Hornady Precision Hunter Ammo?

    I tried them in my 300 RUM and was extremely disappointed. On several cases the primers blew out and many had very very stiff bolt lift. Sent the rest back to hornady and they of course said it was my gun.....my gunsmith checked my gun and nothing was wrong with it. So I’m done with hornady

    28 Nolser vs RUM....opines sought

    I spoke with a local smith on Friday about a future build, its going to be a Nosler 28. The last one he built would push the 195gr bergers to 3200fps, but he could only get 2 reloads per brass and then they were toast. But he said if he slowed the bullet down to 3050fps he could get 7 reloads...

    Limbsaver harmonic stabilizer - aka the toilet plunger
