I would think that Pheasants Forever would speak up strongly opposed to this as well, they've put alot of money into habitat improvements on those WPA's for many years, including having (maybe still have??) a full time habitat specialist working there.- Bhoesl

Thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up buying a Darton spectra E 32 off archery talk. Just got it a couple days ago and love it so far. What a huge difference from my old bow! -

Another vote for the St Croix Legend series. I’ve had one for about 15 years and love it. The warranty is great, you break it they’ll repair or replace it. You just pay the shipping, or sometimes the shop you bought it from can ship it back for you.- Bhoesl

Any advice on shopping for a used bow (compound)? The bow I'm using now is well over 30 years old and I'd like to try upgrading to something newer but can't afford the prices of brand new. I can find lots for sale online at good prices but would rather buy something that I can see in person... -

You say you saw blood in the scope when you shot, also that he was lagging further behind the rest of the herd, and that the herd had previously been shot at down lower... Is it possible that bull was already hit poorly by someone else and you missed completely? Seems like for blood to have... -

Just wanted to report back to everyone. I saw what I believe to be the same deer about 2 weeks after the shot. As @sambo3006 and others suggested I believe the arrow went above the spine, as I could see a dark scar on her back just behind the shoulder and maybe a few inches below the top of... -

That’s the strangest part of the whole situation to me is why the arrow didn’t penetrate better. This is the same bow I’ve been using 20+ years, same arrow and broadhead for the past 4 or 5 years, this setup had killed dozens of deer and a bull elk, almost all of which passed completely through...
