    My Dad loaded some 139 Hornadys for my nephews 7 mag and he had good results with them and killed numerous whitetail deer.

    Our firearm season started yesterday in NE NC and when this buck stepped out on a field edge right before sunset I was able to kill him at 150 yds. It was the first time ever I have been able to kill a whitetail buck on opening day.

    About 25 yrs ago I killed a mule deer buck at 350 yd with a 180 pp partition out of a 300 Win. It was a pass through and he dropped instantly.

    Thanks for the info. I have had my own 300 H&H in an x-bolt since 2018 and also have used H 4350 in it. I was just trying to recreate my Dads load in his rifle because I knew it had been so effective. What kind of dye are you using for neck sizing?

    I was afraid of that. I have tried the IMR4350 I currently have but accuracy has not been very good.

    Yes he started reloading in the early 60s. He used this same load hunting across North America in the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

    Turkey choke for Remington 1187 12 Ga.

    I use either a primos tightwad (.660) or Trulock (.675) in both my 870 and 11-87. They both give a good even hunting pattern with 7&9 tss blend and are reasonably priced.
