Garmin alpha. I still run a 100 and the screen can be tough to read in direct sunlight. I've heard the new 300 models solve that as well as have much longer battery life. I have no complaints amd have had it for 4 years
I have 2 beagles both of which will trail pheasants. Problem is they dont work close so when they flush it almost always out of range. I wouldn't ever get a beagle with the idea of it being a bird dog. It's not what they were breed to do.
Ive cooked scrap, silver skin, etc then mixed with cooked white rice. I give it with their regular food during hunting season when they are running alot. They love it.

Ruger m77 mkii stainless laminate in 300 win. Probably less than 100 rounds fired. Shoots really nice groups when I dont flinch. Which is why I'm selling it since I flinch most the time.
I bought it brand new and have taken it on a few hunts. Will ship to your ffl once I receive funds in a hard...
Just got into it. Kota is 2 and an awesome rabbit dog. Although if the rabbits are hard to find he also likes an occasional trash race. Bella is 6 months and has yet to start. By far some of the most fun and frustrating times have been with the hounds.
Thanks for the help. I got him the power clucker. We will see if that helps. The call he has is the field proven raptor so maybe its just his use of the call or my use of my ears. Thanks again
Wondering what would be a good starter short reed goose call. My son has started field hunting, and the call he has is to high pitched. Not looking to break the bank. Thanks in advance.
I use the alpha 100 and tt15 minis on my beagle and absolutely love it. I agree that it isn't the best option for a standalone gps but I just use onyx on my phone when that is needed. As far as tracking the dog and the training options its great.
In addition to always knowing where he is I...
I had to make the same choice a few years back. I chose slug and it worked perfectly. You want a blood trail and bears are famous for very little blood once the hole plugs with fat. Slug is a bigger hole. That being said either will work. Chose the one you shoot best and have confidence in.
