Having a sighting issue. I’ve got my 20 and 30 yd pins set where I want them but I cannot dial in elevation for the 40 yd pin. It currently touches the bottom of the 30 yd and still shoots 2.5-3” high. However my 30yd pin shoot 3” low at 40yds. I’ve tried to eliminate user error as much as...
There is something to say for the hide and skull. They surely can soak up a lot of impact without traveling down the neck. Then there’s times where we’ve shot hogs with a .22 only to find the bullet all the way down between the shoulders
If a guy is using 10-12 gr of powder in that large of a case, is there anything that needs to be considered for the excess amount of empty case? Maybe it doesn’t effect anything I just haven’t encountered it before.
I’m looking to make a load for my .444 marlin that resembles a .44mag or even lighter.
Maybe a 200-250gr cast bullet. I have a hunting load that works tremendously but I have a special use for these light ones.
We butcher beef every fall and usually just use a .22lr which more often than not...
Well I think I have to admit that the marketing folks at the internet😉 got me sucked in. Appreciate all the discussion. Probably gonna wait and see if “ hero’s get remembered but legends never die” is true or not.
That’s something I looked into after making this post and with what modern rounds are doing, the ol 30-30 is a pretty handy option. With the benefit of being readily available.
Ok gang I‘ve almost talked myself into buying a .350 legend. I hunt the west but I kinda consider 300yds “long range”. Plus I love oddball rounds that do one thing really well. If you haven’t yet look into this cartridge. Recoil and penetration make it look like it’d be a great round for young...
Traditions Smackdown 250 gr with 90 grains of Alliant Black MZ (measured by weight not volume) consistently puts bullets through the same hole at 75 yards out of my Knight DISC Extreme. Quite possibly the cheapest load i have ever come across, $10 for the powder and $15 for the bullets. But...
Thanks for all the help. Been shooting a hawken for the last twelve years, prints 1" groups at 100yds but the dang barrel wedge fell out last year after I shot a bull and needed a second shot ( got a little western). So it was time for something a little better built
I finally broke down and went to the dark side and bought my first inline smokepole yesterday.Got a Knight DISC Extreme. Just curious what loads guys have had luck with. Hunt mostly Wa and Id elk. sabots legal in Wa but not in Id
has anyone else had an issue with Montana fwp website not fully loading?
trying to figure out antelope and deer season dates so i can plan my pronghorn hunt accordingly
know three guys that hunt with the traditions that have had issues with miss fires. two of them switched to the musket cap nipple provided and haven't had and issue. they don't seem to like No. 11 caps, even magnums. from all accounts when they go off they shoot good groups
Saturday was the opener of our WA muzzleloader elk season. hunted hard all day and decided to sit in a little rock pile for the night. two spike bulls walked right in front of me. made what i thought was a great shot and the bull laid down but i quickly found out he was not hit nearly as well as...
definitely not a coveted tag by any means, but i got my WA special draw mule deer tag in mail today. in this portion of the state we have a genuine problem with too many 2X2 mule deer bucks. i'm talkin OLD 2pts. so the state has finally started administering a limited muzzleloader hunt for these...
