Most visitor hunters seem to go guided (and therefore have a resident contact) or hunt with a NZ buddy.
I have taken US visitors on hunts and they have used my rifle which is perfectly legal if hunting together.
Bringing your own rifle here on a solo hunt can be tricky.

I sure hope you make it to the US to hunt. You'll find fantastic people, amazing landscapes and expert hunters. I did my 10th trip from NZ this month and going back from more in Oct.

I would really like to explore Utah for a week or two with a tag in my pocket. My plan was to draw a general deer tag so have been buying points, I now have 5 points. And 2-3 points each for goat, limited deer, limited elk which aren't worth...

Seems pointless to list the hunts as my plan changes continually. But I have enough points to hunt deer, pronghorn, bear and elk that I don't plan to get bored.

I think I understand the MT application process but have been looking into how I can apply for archery elk and have rifle deer as a backup.

A fantastic movie. That scene was the first time I had seen pronghorn and I immediately decided I wanted to hunt them.
