I really need a definitive answer to the NR elk and deer point creep for 2026 haha
I have some hunts in mind and how I have to choose based on what I can draw, assuming a point creep of x.
Have you been out to the MCG? Your timing probably wont work for a game - AFL and cricket is on in March. And even an NFL game (Rams vs 49'ers) later in the year.
I also dropped GoHunt. I now rely on all the Fish and Game info (maps, draw odds, harvest results). Takes more time but can be enjoyable. Will try and use an AI tool more for basic ideas but found them incorrect when digging into the details.
Thanks for those details. I won’t be collecting bonus points so that works perfectly for me.
The last thing I need to do is add another state to my bonus point collection plan lol
I have until now avoided pointlessly checking AZ Fish and Game website but now I can't help myself haha
Sons application still pending for his long shot elk tag.
But at least he will have 10 points next year, so starting to have some good hunt options coming up.
Awesome report, enjoyed reading that. Exciting to read reports from CO. I just need to draw a tag there now.
Sorry to hear that you didn’t make the NZ tree climbing finals. Would have been a great trip when adding in a side hunt!
Well done on getting the leftover tags, its my goal for 2026...
I’ve lived in Melbourne for 6 months and it’s a great city to visit. I’d recommend grabbing a car and driving the Great Ocean Road, attend an event at the MCG, visit the Yarra valley vineyards, if you’re into penguins then you can visit them south of Melbourne at Philip Island.
I can draw the bull elk tag that I have been looking at in an area I have hunted previously, but a cow hunt would allow me to explore new areas, which is more important to me every year.
I don’t have a group lined up for this hunt, but here in New Zealand I also do a lot of hunting with friends...
Nicely stated, thanks for your input.
Clearly there are some people who value a cow hunt, I see last year a NR drew EF002O3R with 25 points! Could have been a mistake I guess.
