I thought I was out but having second thoughts!
I would really like to explore Utah for a week or two with a tag in my pocket. My plan was to draw a general deer tag so have been buying points, I now have 5 points. And 2-3 points each for goat, limited deer, limited elk which aren't worth...
I've got a spreadsheet with a rolling 6 years of western hunts planned for my son and I :)
Seems pointless to list the hunts as my plan changes continually. But I have enough points to hunt deer, pronghorn, bear and elk that I don't plan to get bored.
Few photos from my 2026 roar hunt, same block. Great roaring action. No shooters seen, except for a camp meat hind. Now its time to see if the fallow deer are croaking.
I think I understand the MT application process but have been looking into how I can apply for archery elk and have rifle deer as a backup.
I am buying bonus points in MT for elk (I have 5) and plan to apply for an archery elk permit. I know I have to draw a General Elk or Big Game Combo...
A fantastic movie. That scene was the first time I had seen pronghorn and I immediately decided I wanted to hunt them.
PS that was before I had seen the rest of the movie :)
It looks like this year I'll be in South West CO and am looking at the Durango to Silverton train.
I think the only ticket option I have (late Oct) is the full day return trip, at 7 hours. Is this the trip most people recommend?
Hi Tlenny, welcome and you’re come to the right place to get expert advice.
If you plan to hunt the USA let me know and I’d be happy to help.
BTW I just drove the forgotten highway today and went for a scouting mission. Great country you have in Taranaki.
