    Travel Insurance

Many outfitters’ hunt contracts in extremely remote locations REQUIRE the purchase of Evacuation Insurance with Riders for Civil Unrest and High Altitude Evacuation before departing from the States. This evacuation insurance is different and separate from basic travel insurance. I have had to...

    Have you eaten horse?

On different trips to the Dark Continent (Africa), I have eaten zebra, wildebeest, leopard, kudu, impala, giraffe, and sable. The zebra was fairly good but the best flavored meat was giraffe. In comparison, the leopard was better than our mountain lion meat. Happy hunting to all, TheGrayRider...

I saw a line of people waiting in sub freezing temperatures yesterday morning before a local coin shop opened near Indianapolis to sell their silver and gold coins. I don’t know what that local coin shop was paying below spot prices.Interesting times. Happy hunting to all, the GrayRider a.k.a. Tom.

Best way to go on a moose hunt without having to draw? $9000.00 budget

We paid $5,900 base each for 2019 Alaska Unit 18 drop DIY hunt with Papa Bear out of Bethel. I think the same DIY hunt is over $15,000 base now. (Also, I recently heard of $40,000+ guided Alaska-Yukon moose hunts. Unbelievable!) Two bulls down in less than 4 days between 54 to 60 inches. Fun...

Which western states have been disproportionately good to you in drawing tags?

I apply annually for any and all nonresident Western big game hunts that possibly interest me along with multiple lottery chances. I never look at or study any of the draw companies statistics, articles, or recommendations. Don’t follow the crowds! Luckily, I have recently drawn: Arizona...
