I have a Bergara B14, Ridge, 5 Tikkas and a Vanguard...I would have to rate the Bergara and Tikka a tie and the Vanguard 2nd...the Tikkas are lighter than the Bergara and Vanguard but I really like the feel of the Bergara like my old Remington 700 which is the platform the Bergara is built...
Drew my NR with 3 points...this will be my last season as a NR the following year will be a resident tag!!!Will be hunting with my wife who will have her resident tag as she will meet the one year requirement. Retiring in July after 32 years in law enforcement in Iowa the dream is getting...
I have 5 if that tells you anything..243, 25/06, 270, 7mm/08 and 308 all shoot MOA most bang for your buck out there. They have started to creep up in price now though
but still a bargain rifle.
I used to use a balloon years ago until I put my barrel in the ground, balloon ripped and I got dirt stuffed in the end. Black electrical tape for me now, I have shot at the range with it and accuracy is unchanged.
Thanks Flatrock, I understand that now. So I won't buy any preference points for anything other than Elk so I can hunt the first year I am there. I drew a gen elk tag last year with one point so I should draw with two unless something changes.
This is a lot more confusing for me than the Iowa game regs, so as a resident if you want to hunt a trophy unit you just enter a draw without any preference points? Same for antelope if you wanted to hunt the red desert?
Here's my situation: My wife and I will be moving to the Star Valley, Wyoming area in the next two years. Will my preference points as a nonresident transfer over when I become a resident, I already have one antelope point and I will be buying a elk point shortly. After researching the deer tag...
I have 5 if that says anything 243, 25/06, 7mm/08, 270 and 308 each shoot MOA. I think for the money the Tikka and the Weatherby Vanguard for a little less money than the Tikka are your best bang for the buck. My Weatherby Vanguard 300 win mag shoots MOA also but is a bit heavier.
I have a 10 that I use as a backup, for 79 dollars you then have a redundant system if your main gps goes down. I start my 10 up and mark my start point then turn it off and put it away and use my main gps at least I can get back to where I started if the need arises. Hard to beat for 79 bucks...
I have heard this before but I have 5 Tikkas, my buddy has two and we both have used the rings that came with the rifle, we have never had a issue with any of them. I have hunted elk, pronghorn, deer and coyote. I don't baby my rifles, I do use blue loktite but that should be on any rifle.
Returned from my Wyoming antelope hunt last week and we had a great but short trip. We arrived in Newcastle on Monday after the big storm
it was sad as we drove closer to Rapid City with all of the dead cattle and calves along the fence behind the billboards and even in the median of the...
